Philippines’ GMA Pinoy TV Inks Partnership with Digital Video Systems for Distribution at Sea

Agreement will deliver a wide variety of ‘Kapuso’ programming for Filipino seafarers

MIRAMAR, Florida (March 28, 2019) — Filipino seafarers working far from home can soon catch their favorite Kapuso programs while at sea as GMA Network’s flagship international channel GMA Pinoy TV has become the first Philippine network available for broadcast onboard via CRUISESAT from Digital Video Systems. DVS’s premier service features top-tier, high-definition television content for the cruise, yacht and cargo industries.

The partnership, signed in Miami Jan. 21, 2019, by GMA International, the Philippines’ most popular TV network, and Digital Video Systems, a maritime systems integration and telecommunications provider, grants rights to distribute Kapuso programs to DVS for the cruise industry worldwide.

“We are proud to share with our fellow Kapuso who are not only in foreign countries, but also at sea, that GMA Pinoy TV will be there to bring you closer to home wherever you are in the world,” said GMA First Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph T. Francia.  “We are also grateful to our partners in DVS for believing in the quality of content that GMA International can provide.”

“CRUISESAT will always push to bring the best entertainment lineup to meet the needs of our customers, so that their passengers and employees can view relevant cultural content while at sea,” said Chuck Sackermann, chief executive officer of Digital Video Systems. “We are honored to have such a distinguished content partner in GMA International to help us fill the void as only Kapuso programming can.”

Viewers from across the globe can catch their favorite Kapuso shows via GMA’s international channels GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International. For more updates, visit www.gmapinoytv.com.
